Whiplashed Mar 19, 2010 I found that this travel pillow is smaller and most important to me, is softer than the standard size models in this brand. I bought this for a replacement if ever needed but have been using one for a few years now. I have a badly whiplashed neck and found this little pillow to be great for good support of the neck and head. It was good for sleeping in bed but have been sleeping in a recliner due to back problems now. As I said I like it so much that I bought a second one just to know it's there if I ever needed it because it is so helpful when sleeping or resting.

we call it "the stone" Jan 03, 2010 I have purchased and used several "elastometric"-type foam pillows over the years; including the JC Penny "Ultimate Pillow" and others like them.
This Tempur-pedic possesses both the good and not-so-good qualities common to all of them.
Like the others; the Tempur-Pedic is quite hard when one first lays down on it; especially when the pillow has been in a cold environment for awhile.
Once it warms, the pillow will begin to soften and conform to the sleeper's head and neck, while also beginning to reflect a fair amount of body heat.
Granted; the Tempur-Pedic pillows are cooler than most of the competitor's pillows, and (so far) have not compressed (flattened-out) over time.
Overall; I would recommend this pillow over their larger "Symphony" pillow; especially for back sleepers or side sleepers with relatively small neck to shoulder dimensions.

best travel item I've owned Dec 02, 2009 I've had this pillow for almost 5 years and bought another one for my wife about 3 years ago. I am in the military and have traveled around the world with this pillow and won't leave home without it. In my experience, the tempur pedic brand is by far the best memory foam you can purchase and far outperforms any other options. This can be rolled up into a neck pillow or opened up for a great sleeping pillow. The initial price may seem high but the overall value is outstanding and worth every penny. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Be Cautious Aug 08, 2009 Unfortunately this pillow was a waste of money for me. I had two issues which made it unusable:
First, the smell never entirely dissipated and caused allergy problems for my husband. They claim that these are hypo-allergenic, but this was not the case for us.
Second, this actually CAUSED me to develop neck pain. I've used cheaper foam pillows in the past with no problem, but something about this one wreaked havoc on my neck. I stopped using the pillow after about a month and the pain was gone in a week!
This was an extremely disappointing experience, made even more so by Tempur-Pedic's refusal to accept returns and lack of concern with the issues caused.
