Item appears to be quite a bit lesser quality than traditional models, but it is to be expected for the price. Overall, it still works fine, and at that price its worth it! Item did take a month to arrive--two weeks after the latest delivery date provided.

You get what you pay for....I bought this because of the low price. When I received it, the red color on the rubber bled on everything, it would even come off on my hands, left marks on my patients & forget about putting it in your WHITE lab coat!
Save your money & use the end of your stethoscope!

I received the hammer promptly from the seller and it was as advertised.
However, the rubber on the hammer leaches out color and stains my white coat immediately. So be careful.

I'm a nursing student and I think that it works great. I wanted to have a percussion hammer to practice reflexes and percussion tones. I did not notice the "intense rubber smell" other people mentioned. It does its job as a percussion hammer, and it's pretty light. And it was very cheap, $2 and free shipping. The only thing I did not like is the color but still, great buy.
