Elastogel 9/24 Jul 27, 2010 Size is good, but the outer shell is flimsy and the inter cooling pad falls out continuously. Very poor design. I would not purchase again.

Elasto-Gel Hot-Cold Wrap 9" x 24" Jun 14, 2010 I started using an Elasto-Gel at the facility where my physical therapy sessions for a blown ACL took place. I really looked forward to it every time. I liked it so much I ordered my own.
The unique thing about this pad is how its constructed--it has some weight to it, so the coldness goes pretty deep into your muscles. The same is true when it is used as a heating pad--the feeling penetrates deeply.
I chose the 9" x 24" with the double straps because I felt it was the most versatile. It can be used for lower back, upper back, legs, shoulder, etc. simply by configuring two straps with Velcro ends.
A cool thing about the gel material is that it cannot be punctured; and it is not liquid, so it will not leak. You can put it in the oven to heat it at 250 degrees for ten minutes. If you have the extra time it takes to fully heat it, the oven is the best method since it makes the material hold the heat for a longer period of time, but the microwave does work reasonably well.
This is definitely a recommended product.
Elasto-Gel Jun 14, 2010 Great product and delivery was fast. Using only
as cold so far, was recommended by Phys.Therapist.
Great for basketball players Apr 20, 2010 I am a very active athlete. I play basketball 3-4 times a week in addition to cardio and muscle workouts. As soon as I get home from playing bball, I look foward to putting on my cold wrap. It feels great, fits comfortably, and keeps the swelling and pain down.
Amazing for ACL Injuries Apr 14, 2010 This thing has made my recovery from an ACL tear and then subsequent reconstructive surgery a breeze. The packs get very cold and the compression makes a huge difference over the long term. Compression and cold work together to control pain and swelling and result in making your painful knee feel great and heal faster. My doctor literally could not believe how quickly I got the swelling under control after my injury (hit a tree snowboarding right at the joint, fractured fibula and torn ACL and MCL). Thank you Southwest Technologies!
Post-surgically using these packs is so much easier than using the cryo cuff if you just want to use ice for 30 minutes rather than 4 hours. Getting this out of the freezer is so much better than filling up the ice chest.
The cold last about 30 mins but it feels so good along with the compression. This will give you much better compression then you get at physical therapy because of the design.
My suggestion to you: get more than one!
