Very helpful for claw toe Jan 02, 2011
By Ruth A. Hendrickson My second toe is a "claw toe" which humps up in the middle and the nail pounds on the floor when I walk. Having this under the toe keeps the toe nail from hitting the ground. I've had no trouble with shifting - I place the strap at the back of the toe and not over the hump. I like the leather as it absorbs the sweat. I found this particularly useful for cross country skiing.

Simple, but effective. May 24, 2011
By Carol E. White Pedifix Hammer Toe Crest Cushion has eased my pain by providing a method to reduce the pain caused by walking with a partial hammer toe on my left foot.

Terribly Made Dec 02, 2010
By L.S. What you can't see from the picture is that this device has one very narrow elastic band to secure it to one toe. If that band is not in the correct spot on your toe, it does not push it down to keep it straight. The puffy underbody of this device is very uncomfortable to walk in (without shoes on, I mean. It is virtually impossible to wear shoes with this). I would instead reccomend the tripple toe straightener from Footsmart.com, item #40169. Even if you only have a problem with one toe, this device makes more sense because it has wider and sturdier bands, and a flat backing that covers all three toes. It is far more comfortable to wear. I have only been using it for about two weeks, but I think it is making a difference. The problem is that most of these devices are next to impossible to wear with shoes on because they are bulky and the bands pinch inside shoes. They can be worn comfortably around the house with slipper socks over them.
Very uncomfortable Jan 18, 2012
By jenbrik These are the most uncomfortable things to wear. I only have problems in my left foot and wearing just one is uncomfortable. To help with hammer toe, I put pads inbetween the toes and a cushion pad under the second toe.
