OPTP Rumble Roller 31" x 6"

The RumbleRoller - The surface of the RumbleRoller contains 200 specially designed "bumps" that are firm but flexible, much like the thumbs of a massage therapist! The bumps are firmer than muscle tissue, but much softer than bone, so they deflect out of the way if they contact your spine or other bony protrusions. As you roll on the RumbleRoller, the bumps continuously knead the contours of your body, gently stretching soft tissue in multiple directions to help restore flexibility and bring relief to common types of muscular pain. The RumbleRoller was molded with an antimicrobial additive that stops the growth of bacteria so it can be used with multiple clients. The RumbleRoller is 31" x 6", water-proof and latex free.

5If you want your own massage therapist, read on.  Jul 27, 2011
By Mukwa IS "traveller"
Car accidents, hard work, sport and work injuries and just living life to the full have left me like a lot of folks, with pain as a constant companion. Chiropractors, physio, myo-fascial release, etc. all are great & have their place, but lets face it, we all want something we can do ourselves at home to get some relief every day. This rumble roller is it. It's amazing. I honestly can't say enough good about it. The fingers or nubs on it dig into soft tissue, stretching and massaging and working out all the kinks. If you are not accustomed to foam rollers, find the pressure of the rumble roller too deep or like me have a lot of arthritis, there is another way to use this roller, especially for the back. Put it vertically (upright) against the wall behind the back, with feet in front and in a squat position. Press your body back against the roller. Then shift your body slowly from one side to the other, rolling over the roller. With a deep squat you can even get to the top of the shoulders. By bending the knees more or less it is possible to roll over every inch side to side from the sacrum to the shoulder. Even those tenacious gnarly knots or trigger points that everyone has behind the shoulder blades can be broken down and rolled out. Because it's done in an upright position it's very easy to control the pressure. It is just wonderful. I recently had shoulder surgery and have been using it everyday to increase mobility and break down scar tissue. My physiotherapist was amazed at my range of motion in such a short time, so I brought it to her and showed her what I was doing and now she's added some more moves to my routine. Even with everyday use, it is holding up very well, no signs of wear. I have the long roller and think it's ideal.

5Yikes....! Keep going!  Aug 10, 2011

I've used massage sticks, and regular foam rollers but none of those have dug as deep as this roller did on its first use. It's been pretty painful, but I felt my quads and hamstrings loosening up after one use! I really didn't know my hamstrings were tight until i used this thing. Problem areas were definitely my hip flexors and TFL due to their depth, they don't seem to connect too well with the nubs. I assume the smaller rumblerollers are a lot more efficient at hitting those spots... but I'll stick with a lacrosse ball for now.

In regards to use, it works just like a foam roller.. however rolling your body in any direction will give you a different result on a tight spot. I don't remember my regular foam roller ever being all that different if i rolled a little to the side here or there, unless i was tyring to trap a muscle between me and the roller(always frustrating feeling the muscle slip out from between you and your roller). This rumbelroller will kind of allow you to more efficiently chase those spots and hone in on them.

I use my massage stick before and after exercise, but if things start to get tight it only takes one 15 minute session of rolling to get back where i was.

If you've got some tight spots that just won't seem to loosen up, this thing will do it, quick.

5Such a good pain!  Apr 17, 2011
By Karen
As a triathlete who also works and has a family, I don't get to have one of those expensive deep tissue massages that most triathletes get once a week. The rumble roller allows me to target trouble spots instantly whenever I need it. It is such a good pain that I look forward to. Be careful, though, let your body heal in between uses. It can be pretty rough.

4Rumble Roller Round  Oct 10, 2010
By toffee
I must say that it was not the easiest to use but I am not in the best of shape at age 55. I used it every evening before bed for at least 2-3 weeks before getting real results. I believe it did help with my hips which where painful to lay on at night and leg pain behind my knees that I was having.

Simply put you cannot achieve the level of myo-facial release with a regular roller like you can with this. Having major back spasms caused a herniated L3 and a completely compressed L5, this item has been my savior. I was able to recover 100% and am stronger than I ever have been. With positioning and leverage, I am able to align my hips, pelvic bone and spine daily after working out, never needing chiropractic adjustment. A must have if you are into any kind of rigorous training with jarring movements. And even if you are not training that hard, this thing is AWESOME.
