I bought this for my son to use at Kendo practice. Like hockey they need a long straw to fit through the masks. It works great. The lid is a little difficult to screw on correctly which is why I gave it only 4 stars. Other than that works well.

Staw water bottle good for ice hockey Jan 19, 2011

This straw water bottle is very effective if you wear helmet with face protection such as ice hockey helmet. The straw is pretty long it reaches mouth without problems. My bottle doesn't leak. Plastic doesn't stink and plastic is somewhat transparent. It looks good too.
I'm satisfied with this purchase and i would recommend it to my friend.
Just Right for Our Lacrosse Player May 22, 2012

My son plays lacrosse and we quickly discovered that unless he takes his helmet off, he cannot use regular water bottles. And if he takes his helmet off, at his age, snapping it back on is difficult.
So we gave this water bottle a try and it's been exactly what he needs. The water bottle is large and holds plenty of water to keep him hydrated. The straw is just what he needs so he can keep his helmet on and still get a water break.
I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone who needs to take in water while wearing any type of helmet that obscures the face.

I needed a bottle to hydrate during games in my rec hockey league (I play goalie). Usually I just leave my water bottle on top of the net for easy access between whistles. Initially, I bought 32 oz. Gatorade 'G' Sports Bottle with Squeeze Top for this, and to be honest it was more about aesthetics than anything. But only a few games in it already broke from a slapshot during warmups. This Mueller bottle is much more durable, holds way more water, and the straw is perfect for delivering water past my mask cage to avoid errant water sprays, making for easier cleanup/avoiding rust issues. Very happy with this bottle.
