1Inadequate neck support & too firm for side sleeping  Jul 27, 2010
I have some long suffering neck issues (osteoarthritis, pinched nerves, loss of normal cervical curve) and my chiropractor suggested that I ditch my contour/memory foam pillow and buy a D-Core pillow instead. I looked at several options and based on the mostly good reviews on this one, decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment. First I tried to use the narrower side for neck support while sleeping on my back, but it is too flat and soft to offer any benefit. In fact, I was able to feel an air space between the back of my neck and the top of the pillow! I attempted to move around some of the inner stuffing to build up the neck roll area but it was of no use...its just too thin and flimsy to offer any true support. Next I flipped the pillow over and tried using the thicker neck support to see if that worked. Unfortunately this side is too wide to allow my head to fall back into the 'core', so my neck and head are kept at the same height, which defeats the purpose (might as well use a regular pillow). When I occasionally rolled out of the 'core' and on to the side for side sleeping during the night, the firm sides of the pillow were like sleeping on a stack of folded towels....no give, too firm, and a lumpy to boot! As bad as this pillow was for back sleeping, it was 10 times worse for side sleeping. I wish I would have kept this pillow in the plastic bag so I could return it but now its too late... add this pillow to the heap of gimmicks that didn't work.

3I'm not sure if I like this product.  Jul 23, 2010
I sometimes twist my neck while I sleep because I sleep on my back, but my face is on side. My chiropractor suggested that I get special pillow to prevent my neck from turning too far. That's why I purchased this pillow. The package says it may take a few weeks before I get used to this product. Well, it has been a few weeks since I started using this pillow, and I haven't gotten used to it yet. I think this pillow is good for side sleepers because it has good neck support. My shoulder doesn't feel pressure. But when I sleep on my back, the neck support is so high that my head is tilted outward (like you give someone CPR), and I have to breathe from my mouth. Also my neck is soar when I wake up in the morning. It certainly keeps my neck from turning, though. Each person's body is different, so you have to try it to find out if this product is good for you or not.

3Not for me  Jun 28, 2010
I bought this pillow with high hopes of saving my neck and shoulder area. It seems that it just made things worse. :( Don't get me wrong, it may work for a different body type...but you just won't know unless you try it.

5Very good pillow helped my neck problem  Apr 07, 2010
I have insomnia and the pillow helped me get more comfortable by positioning my neck so I can breathe better! it works wonderfully.

4A Godsend For A Good Night's Sleep!  Apr 07, 2010
This pillow is ingenious! I was diagnosed with mild arthritis in my neck and for the past year have been having considerable neck stiffness and pain when I get out of bed in the morning (which came as quite a shock, since I'm only in my early 40s). But this pillow was an answer to my prayers. My chiropractor recommended a cervical pillow and I'm glad I found this one on Amazon. I read many of the other reviews first. They were very helpful in finding the right brand, size and style. This was perfect for me. Not too soft or too firm and the indentation is in the right place. I'm glad it came with two neck sections support sections(top is wider and thicker than the bottom). So if I need a different placement of the support I could get that on the other side. The only reason that I rated it 4 and not 5 stars is because I can see that I will need another one in a about the next 4-5 months. The firmness does wear down in less time that I would prefer. I would rather not have to replace it this often. But for the sleeping comfort that it gives me, it's well worth the money! I'm going to also look to see if it comes in a travel size!
