Test strips very close to expiration May 25, 2011

The test strips were delivered in early may and will expire on June 30th. I would expect that he strips would have atleast 6 months to a year before their expiration. I would not recommend to buy from this seller unless they specify the expiration of test strips. I am sure no one would want to take a risk with expired test strips.
Gone...but not forgotten. Dec 24, 2011
By Joe Zyzyx These WERE accurate whole blood sugar testing meter and strips. More blood meant more accuracy than the little sippers used today which siphon the blood from a little drop. The newer ones seem to have a wider range, less accuracy than this older meter. However, DO NOT BUY IT, it has been discontinued and even if you find strips still available they are either out of date already or soon will be. Not only is this meter no longer manufactured, the test strips have been discontinued also. If you switch to a Reli-On type, just know it can read 20-30 points higher than this would on the same blood sample, that's been my comparative testing score between them. The last place I found strips in a store was the Walgreen's store brand and those were out of date on the shelf. I pointed that out and they couldn't get newer stock in 2011, or chose not to. Home Diagnostis, aka Nitro, admits on their site they no longer produce the strips and I don't believe any other manufacturer has been licensed to do so. This is a dead end product now.
GREAT PRICE, POOR QUALITY Nov 01, 2010

Test strips have the lowest price but a big drop of blood is needed and the strips, (per my a1c results) test about 40 mg's lower than they should. Could be dangerous if you don't take the low test results in account. I always add 40 mg's to my test results and adjust my diet & exercise accordingly.
