Kinesio Tex Tape - Water Resistant Beige, 2" x 4.5 yd. Single Roll for Kinesio Taping

Kinesio® Tex Tape Water Resistant, Color: Beige, 2" x 4.5 yd. (5cm x 4m) Single Roll, Clinical, non-retail packaging. Kinesio Athletic Tape is a modality treatment based on the body's own natural healing process. The major effects of Kinesio taping are correcting muscle function, improving circulation of blood and lymph, relieving pain, and repositioning the subluxation joints. Kinesio Athletic Tape is latex free, and is durable for 3-4 days of use. Kinesio Athletic Tape is an elastic athletic tape of extremely high quality, and was specifically designed by Dr. Kenzo Kase to provide exceptional results for Kinesio Taping. Kinesio Athletic Tape was designed to be worn on the skin for an extended period of time (3-4 days) without irritation, as well as during strenuous exercise or hydrotherapy. The adhesive is not only heat activated, but also will not leave any residue when removed. Kinesio® Athletic Tape is FDA approved, and patent protected. Kinesio® Athletic Tape has an elasticity of 140%, which matches the same basic elasticity found in ones skin and muscles, allowing Kinesio taping to work with your body. This provides full range of motion, support, and stability, without adversely affecting the natural range of motion. For excellent results, Kinesio® Athletic Tape should be applied at least 30 minutes prior to exercise in order for the heat activated adhesive to adjust and bond with the skin temperature. In conjunction with the Kinesio Taping Method, Kinesio Athletic Tape is frequently used for clinical applications such as patella femoral, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff, etc. Kinesio Athletic Tape is more expensive than conventional athletic tape, but due to the quality and usage, Kinesio Athletic Tape is actually more economical Product photo may not exactly match the product offered for sale. Please refer to the product description.

  • The Kinesio Taping Method involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction.

  • The method and tape allow the individual to receive the therapeutic benefits 24 hours per day with both comfort and ease, because it can be worn for several days per application.

  • Currently, Kinesio Taping is used in hospitals, clinics, high schools and by professional sports teams including the olympics. Sold in clinical non-retail packaging.

Label Information:
Indications: Kinesio Taping alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. The taped portion forms convolutions in the skin, thus increasing interstitial space. The result is that pressure and irritation are taken off the neural and sensory receptors, alleviating pain. Pressure is gradually taken off the lymphatic system, allowing it to channel more freely. To ensure that the muscles have free range of motion, elastic tapes with an elasticity of 130-140% of its original length are recommended for Kinesio Taping®. This specific elasticity also will not allow an over stretch of the muscles themselves. It may look like conventional athletic tape, but tape and Kinesio Taping is fundamentally different. Kinesio Taping is based on a different philosophy that aims to give free range of motion in order to allow the body's muscular system to heal itself bio-mechanically.

5Great Relief for Whiplash  Feb 22, 2010
My physical therapist had taken many measures to help relieve the tension in my neck resulting from a car accident. The Kinesio Tape has been the only thing from physical therapy that has made me feel so much better for extended periods of time. I will admit that I was a skeptic that tape could make me feel better, but an hour after application I noticed a significant difference.

5Kinesio tape works great on my chest truncal lymphedema  Feb 20, 2010
Kinesio tape totally improved my chest / truncal lymphedema. I had a relatively minor case, but it was bothering me and I've been working very hard to get the swelling down. My breast was hard and swollen - I have tried MLD, herbal supplements, etc and nothing has gotten the swelling under control.

My chiropractor put kinesio tape on my breast and chest area and it is amazing how much better it feels. The swelling is way down and the hardness and thickness is much reduced. He is putting this on me once a week with two pieces - one from my breast up toward my collar bone and one piece from my breast across to my right side chest. If you are suffering from lymphedema and haven't tried kinesio tape, I would highly recommend it!

Some tips if you are not going to an expert to get this applied:
* The adhesive is heat-activated. So to get it to stick well, you need to rub the tape on the skin a bit. I can get it to stay on for a week.
* Cut the tape so that each piece has a solid area at one end and then four little strips on the other end where the lymphedema is.
* Place the solid end at the terminus point and then stretch each little piece down and across the area. Make sure to rub each strip so that it stays attached.

5Even Good For Bowlers  Feb 03, 2010
I'm a bowler and bought this to help me hold on to the bowling ball. In the bowling pro shops they sell a product made of the same material. In the pro shops it's sized/cut to fit along your thumb to help you get a better grip on the ball... and it's much more expensive. This is the same material, but in a roll form. I just cut off several pieces and include them in my bowling bag. Works great for me.

2Did not work for me  Jan 27, 2010
I bought this product to alleviate some IT Band issues I was having. My physical therapist taught me how to apply the tape and sent me on my way. I have never been able to get this product to stick for more than an hour or so. I have followed the instructions for skin prep, but as soon as I sweat the edges start to come off. This has happened with all 5 attempts I have made at using the tape whether running, cycling, or CrossFit. People swear by this stuff, but it really didn't work for me. I don't sweat any more than the average person, but perhaps I need to the super waterproof type?
