Kinesio Tex Tape - Water Resistant Beige, 2" x 4.5 yd. Single Roll for Kinesio Taping

Kinesio® Tex Tape Water Resistant, Color: Beige, 2" x 4.5 yd. (5cm x 4m) Single Roll, Clinical, non-retail packaging. Kinesio Athletic Tape is a modality treatment based on the body's own natural healing process. The major effects of Kinesio taping are correcting muscle function, improving circulation of blood and lymph, relieving pain, and repositioning the subluxation joints. Kinesio Athletic Tape is latex free, and is durable for 3-4 days of use. Kinesio Athletic Tape is an elastic athletic tape of extremely high quality, and was specifically designed by Dr. Kenzo Kase to provide exceptional results for Kinesio Taping. Kinesio Athletic Tape was designed to be worn on the skin for an extended period of time (3-4 days) without irritation, as well as during strenuous exercise or hydrotherapy. The adhesive is not only heat activated, but also will not leave any residue when removed. Kinesio® Athletic Tape is FDA approved, and patent protected. Kinesio® Athletic Tape has an elasticity of 140%, which matches the same basic elasticity found in ones skin and muscles, allowing Kinesio taping to work with your body. This provides full range of motion, support, and stability, without adversely affecting the natural range of motion. For excellent results, Kinesio® Athletic Tape should be applied at least 30 minutes prior to exercise in order for the heat activated adhesive to adjust and bond with the skin temperature. In conjunction with the Kinesio Taping Method, Kinesio Athletic Tape is frequently used for clinical applications such as patella femoral, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff, etc. Kinesio Athletic Tape is more expensive than conventional athletic tape, but due to the quality and usage, Kinesio Athletic Tape is actually more economical Product photo may not exactly match the product offered for sale. Please refer to the product description.

  • The Kinesio Taping Method involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction.

  • Since the introduction of Kinesio Taping into the US, medical practitioners from PTs, ATCs, OTs, DCs, MTs, to MDs have recognized and embraced this effective, safe and best of all, easy-to-use modality

  • The method and tape allow the individual to receive the therapeutic benefits 24 hours per day with both comfort and ease, because it can be worn for several days per application.

  • Currently, Kinesio Taping is used in hospitals, clinics, high schools and by professional sports teams including the olympics. Sold in clinical non-retail packaging.

Label Information:
Indications: Kinesio Taping alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. The taped portion forms convolutions in the skin, thus increasing interstitial space. The result is that pressure and irritation are taken off the neural and sensory receptors, alleviating pain. Pressure is gradually taken off the lymphatic system, allowing it to channel more freely. To ensure that the muscles have free range of motion, elastic tapes with an elasticity of 130-140% of its original length are recommended for Kinesio Taping®. This specific elasticity also will not allow an over stretch of the muscles themselves. It may look like conventional athletic tape, but tape and Kinesio Taping is fundamentally different. Kinesio Taping is based on a different philosophy that aims to give free range of motion in order to allow the body's muscular system to heal itself bio-mechanically.

4Kineseo tape - works very well for me  May 17, 2010
The kineseo tape seems to do just what it claims. I am a 63-year old jogger (usually 4-6 miles at a time three times a week, occasionally longer) with very imperfect biomechanics and have had persistently tender knees for a long time. I began using the kineseo tape in place of Cho-Pat straps on my knees to provide some tension on the ligament just below the patella. It seems to achieve the same effect as the Cho-Pat without the constricting band across the back of the knee. Since using the kineseo taping, my knees have been quite tolerable and generally free of any appreciable soreness. I even completed a marathon two weeks age. It was run pretty slowly but without any noticeable soreness either during or after the marathon. I was back to my normal jogging three days after the marathon without any unusual aches. How much of that is a result of the taping, I cannot be certain, but I feel it definitely makes a big difference in my case. I found that the black-colored tape seems to adhere better on sweaty or rainy days, so that is what I have been using. I remain a little self-conscious about being the jogging geezer with visible black stripes on his knees, but they seem to work too well to worry about the cosmetics.

4I'm allergic - but it worked perfectly otherwise  Apr 12, 2010
I've given this tape 4 stars because it did exactly what I wanted: protected my neck from the rash I get from my triathlete wet suit (obviously while swimming in it). It stuck on very well though I should add that I washed my neck first and then wiped it with rubbing alcohol to make sure of good adhesion.

The first time I used it my neck felt like it had been sunburned - and that's what I thought it was. Today I used it in a race and it hurt like hell to pull it off and underneath my skin was very red and later turned to a perfect 2" rash around my neck.

Granted, this is not a typical use but I am disappointed that I'm allergic. Still, amazing this stuff stuck on through the continuous rubbing of a wet suit on my neck in water.

2Kinesio tape  Jan 25, 2010
I'm not happy with the product that I got from amazon. I ordered black kinesio tape and recieved red instead. I wanted black. The only reason I give it a 2 rating instead of a 1, is that I got the tape 4 days before the expected delivery date. I don't know if I will by tape from here again, because I want/need black tape, because it is stronger than the color tape. Can I trust that I will get the correct order the next time I order from here? Thank you.

4Does what it's supposed to  Nov 03, 2009
I found this product useful in treating minor overuse injuries in my feet and legs. It certainly seems like it helps improve recovery time and aids injured areas. It stays on fairly well--you can shower, swim, and even apply ice cups right over it. However, it's not a miracle, and it's not an instant fix. Remember, each application is supposed to stay on for about 5 days. If you have a serious injury, it's not going to allow you to compete injury-free, nor will it cure a long-lasting chronic injury permanently. It is a very good recovery aid, but you still have to address the cause of your original injury. I have less experience using kinesio tape on acute injuries (sprains, bruises, and the like) since my sport (distance running) involves relatively few, so I can't comment on the manufacturer's claim that it can reduce swelling and edema.
