I first purchased the Hunter model 33223 humidifier which had a noise issue with the fan. Hunter Fan Co. promptly replaced the defective model with the model 33288. The medium room sized permawick model 33288 humidifier includes two fan speeds and a humidistat. The humidifier raised relative humidity from 25% to 40% in a 209 square foot room. Frequency of adding water to the 1.5 gallon reservoir will depend on humidistat and fan speed settings. I am very pleased with the performance of the 33288 model and the customer service that Hunter Fan Co. provided.

I bought this humidifier 3 months ago and it is leaking now. First I thought I was pouring too much water but even pouring a half of the tank it is leaking. it actually got worse; it destroyed my furniture. When contacted the seller, I was told I will get an exchange. They don't do any refunds, they only send you another item. Its ok; but what they sent me, it was totally different!!. First of all, it was cheaper about $30!! totally different model and what worst, I bought a humidifier with a permanent wick; so I don't have to worry about buying and cleaning the filter and of course to safe money. They sent me the humidifier with the most expensive filter I could get!!! I have the impression; they just wanted to make money on me!!!! What a terrible experience!!! Never buying from this company any products!!!!!!!!!

Worked well for about 2 months. It humidified well and was fairly quiet. After about 6 weeks of nightly use, the motor started making noise on high and eventually wouldn't start up. It sounds like a shaft is rubbing on plastic. The unit is clean with no signs of debris. We like how it performs so we'll try another one. It has a 5 year warranty. I'll update the review if the replacement works well.
Note: the fill/valve is on the bottom of the tank so it will drips a few drops on the carpet when you install the tank.

Unit runs quietly, and is very easy to refill. Haven't cleaned the filter yet so not really sure how easy that is.
