5FINALLY!!  Sep 11, 2010
By me
I had a moderate case of tennis elbow and tried all variety of exercises and stretching for rehab. This little gadget works so well and so quickly I was shocked! Very effective--I highly recommend it. My father was having trouble with his thumb and with his forearm for months. I suggested the handmaster, but he was highly skeptical. Within weeks he had movement and a reduction in pain that left him a true believer. I had read other reviews critical of the band and suggesting that you insert thumb first and take the band off the thumb first. I have had no problems with the band following this piece of advice.

I purchased this item to develop strength, in order to hold a tennis racquet more tightly.

I found out afterwards that this product is probably no better than a ball that I can squeeze based upon advice from an exercise trainer (provided the trainer is correct). The trainer advised me to squeeze the ball tightly for a long period of time, and then to use the finger resistance bands. He said that almost all of the resulting strength will come from squeezing the ball, not from the finger exercises.

A comparable resistance ball would probably cost a few dollars, at most.
