The best for cold compresses Dec 15, 2009
By J. Mindiola
"the mangrove"
I have yet to try it hot, so I can't speak to that side of it's claim, but it is heaven as a cold compress. It does not get hard in the freezer and does not get too cold either, it is just right to wrap around a strained joint or muscle and it stays cold for a long time. I first experienced it in a physical therapy place; where it was the last thing they did to my knee after the intense workout. I came to find it almost orgasmic. In short, great cold.
What a great product for sore backs Sep 25, 2011
By Bernadette Recently I somehow severly wrenched my back to the point that it was in spasm so bad that I could hardly move at times.
I tried everything including pills and massage but this is the one thing that seemed to relax the strained muscles the most.
It is so intense a relaxation response in my muscles that I heat this up in the microwave and wrap it around me and within ten minutes it puts me to sleep. I can only use it at night for this reason but I sleep through the night like a baby when I use this. The moist heat is so much better than a heating pad. I wish it stayed warm longer than twenty minutes but usually since I fall asleep so fast in this it doesn't matter. If your back is in pain I strongly recommend this.

OK.....But..... Oct 09, 2008
By Kingston I got one of these in an attempt to find any and all things to relieve back pain. This works as described, but it only holds the heat from the microwave for around 10 minutes. It is bulky and heavy compared to disposable heat wraps.
I much prefer heat wraps from Walgreens or WalMart. These are generic versions of Thermacare products, but the generic heat wraps work much better and are cheaper than the Themacare products. After a lot of searching I have been unable to find them at Amazon.
I guess someone on a limited budget would prefer this item, as it is reusable. But it would be a lot of trouble for someone who lives alone to have to remove it and heat it up again and again every 10 minutes or so.
