I got this for my 86 year old dad who has bad wrist and hand pain from arthritis and probably tendon damage. He loves it in heat mode as it alleviates the pain and gives support. Guess I'll have to spring for another one so he can have them on both hands.

I have used many types of cold/hot packs over the years, but have now thrown them all out! I used this product as a cold pack during therapy after surgery on my wrist recently. After the first use, I just had to get one for home too. The flexability and comfort is amazing. It remains very secure so you don't have to "hold still" like a traditional cold pack. Also, there is no need to put a towel between the pack and your skin as you would with ice or other cold packs, and the "cooling" continues much longer than you would expect. This is the best investment I've ever made!

I recently broke both wrists and have to apply heat and ice often. These have been wonderful. The only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5, is that for me, at least, the velcro is almost too strong. It is hard to undo and leaves fuzzies all over the blue area when it touches it. Overall though, this is a great buy for anyone who needs ice or heat for the wrists. I recommend just tossing the storage bags that come with it and putting them into gallon freezer ziplocs. They are easier to deal with than the small bags that come with the product.

This product doesn't get particularly cold and doesn't stay cold for long. I've switched to using a significantly less expensive Mueller cold-hot wrap which is bulkier and less form-fitting but stays cold for much longer.
The velcro sticks to the blue covering and will tear it on removal.

The black velcro straps stick to the blue part, tearing it all up, unless you're extremely careful so it doesn't touch. They are not supposed to at all, they should only stick to the black strip. This is MAJOR design flaw if you ask me.
On the good side, it does keep the wrist cold for about 15-20min. I usually take it out of the freezer, let it out for 5 min, and then put it on, otherwise is too cold for me and it hurts. I've never tried it warm.
When I bought this, there was nothing like it in stores, now they have tons at CVS, and cheaper too!
-this thing cannot be washed, there's a warning on the package. The gel will autodestruct if gotten wet, apparently.
