A co-worker of mine had introduced me to the "Ma-Roller" when my back was having a lot of issues this past fall. I saw the Earthlite for about half the price of the Ma-Roller and was a little skeptical at first. However, it has proven to be an excellent tool for working out the knots in my back, and after using it I feel better both physically and emotionally. TIP: The roller is meant to be used on the floor. You begin by placing it under the base of your head and rolling slowly down to the base of your spine. If there is a point of extra tension it is best to roll back and forth a bit and then allow yourself to relax into the roller. I will also say that if you are sensitive to too much pressure this may not be the tool for you as it really gets into the deep muscle tissue.

This is a wonderful massage tool. It can be used with someone on a table, on a bed, or on the floor. It is designed so that the space in the middle easily clears the spine and applies even pressure to the muscles on either side simultaneously. It is a great way to relieve muscle tension for someone else and feels delicious when someone uses it on you. Buy it. It is one of the most worthwhile investments I ever made.

ADDICTION WARNING - I have been using the "Ma Roller" for the past two decades. Legend has it originated from the ancient secret Cripts of China. I did not think I could live without mine until one day I left it at a hotel while traveling.
I was unable to locate another Chinese Ma so I replaced it with the Earthlite Roller. The Earthlite Roller is equally as effective as the Ma and was less expensive. I have found if I set my alarm clock to wake me a half hour before I need to get up, then while lying on my back in bed I slip the Roller under the middle of my back with the spine in-between the two raised knobs. Then relax.
Truth be known, it takes a bit of getting used-to at first. . .but once your back muscles learn to relax, then by moving the roller up or down the spine, one vertibrae at a time, your back will be magically adjusted. You shall feel an inch taller, and your Chi will be more balanced as you start your day, or night after a nap. If you like to watch TV while lying on the floor. . .try putting a pillow under your head and the Roller under your back. Amazing things will happen, especially if you have been doing manual labor just prior. It stretches your back muscles and gets the kinks out. Don't try to rush it. It takes a minimum of 15 minutes for my muscles to release and to let-go stored tension. The Roller sure beats taking pills for stiff muscle pain. Tension headaches are a thing of the past for me. All I need is some quality time with he Roller. It scores 5 Stars in my book. Don't leave home without it, but also don't leave it someplace while you are away. It is truly addictive! My parents have a similar product so when I moved out I needed one of my own. I decided to buy this one and it's the perfect roller! I love how it gets deep into your muscles from head to well...bottom of your spine. I feel so relaxed after I just lie there on the carpet. Sometimes I even fall asleep!
