Amazing! Apr 05, 2011
By Christopher deHoll I was converted to Ice Massage in college when I suffered significant knee pain. I began using these (and a foam roller; I've reviewed a great one if you're looking) as part of my rehab regiment. I wish I could tell you that these are a pain free device that will solve all of your problems and world hunger too, but unfortunately that would be lying. Ice massage, like most deep tissue massage, is not a wonderfully enjoyable experience at the time. If shortly after you exercise and use it with small, precise strokes hitting knots (you'll develop a feel for where they like to accumulate and it makes it easier to track them down) and work the knots out you will feel a million times better. One trick I have learned with these, if you fill them with HOT water it will freeze faster and you will have stronger, clearer ice, and its also less likely to break or be rough. You won't regret buying this, I highly recommend them for any athlete.
Cons: Only things that should be expected (i.e. water melts, which means if you don't put a towel or something under you; you will get wet).
Pros: Easy to use, Eases Pain, Great for getting yourself back to training fast.

A Runner's Best Friend Feb 03, 2010
By DH We have two runners in the family and frequently use this for icing and massaging soft tissue aches and pains. Much more comfortable and convenient than freezing water in a paper cup. When you take the cup apart, the upper part of the cup remains attached to the ice so your hand doesn't get cold while you use it. The end of the ice also has a nice rounded shape which is much more comfortable than the sharp edge you get freezing water in a paper cup.

I ordered this cup for use with my massage patients and I just love it! So easy to use! If your tired of the others, try this one, it's simply the best thing for cryotherapy I have used.

Broke after 6 days Apr 01, 2011
By Iris I was very excited about this 5 minute icing method but was extremely disappointed when the cup broke after just six days. Water expands when it cools below 4 degree centigrade and this led to it's cracking. They need to come up with a better design to compensate for that.
