2Too small  Sep 17, 2007
By Registered Nurse
The hot pack inserts in the warming mittens are too small. They only cover the back of the hand and not the usually more painful thumb and thumb joints (closer to the wrist) of someone who suffers from painful arthritis of the hands. A good idea, but the insert packs need to be extended to generously cover the thumb area and to extend lower down to the wrist.

4not very good warming mittens  Mar 09, 2008
By Greg Kommel
I got them as a gift for my mom for her birthday and of course, after she had opened them she wanted to try them out because she is super cold 24/7. she wears like 3 shirts, long underwear, pants, and 2 pairs of socks in 75-80degree weather and is STILL cold. After I had heated them up in the microwave for her as the directions stated, I felt them and they weren't very warm and I went up to 1 minute and 30seconds which was the most you are supposed to do...so I don't know. She said she liked them but that could have been her just trying to be nice and not make me feel like I had purchased a bad gift or it might not have been, I'll never be sure. The mittens are really thick and bulky so you can't really change the channel on the TV or cook or whatever.

I am very happy with these hand warmers. They help ease the pain of arthritis and help me warm up when my hands go cold due to Raynoud's syndrome.
