Fast, Gentle, Effective, Fast-Acting Pain Relief: Just What It Should Be Jun 02, 2010
I'm an avid cyclist. On Wendesday, 19 May, 2010, I had a pretty serious crash (entirely my own fault) and took a major impact to the back of my left calf, resulting in deep bruising and some tendon strains. It could've been a lot worse -- had the front of my calf taken the blow, I would've faced a broken leg and six months of recovery, instead of soft-tissue injury and six weeks of recovery -- but suffice it to say that it hurt a lot.
I'm dating a physical therapist, and he handed me a tube of this stuff to help with the pain. It has made a tremendous difference, especially when I've been up on my feet for any length of time.
Pros:
-Relieves pain effectively
-Evaporates quickly but works for a long time
-Doesn't burn (by way of comparison: I use a major grocery chain's generic version of the Icy/Hot stick at work, and it does produce a burning sensation, especially in the more sensitive spots, like behind the knee).
-Pleasant, non-overpowering scent
-Non-greasy gel format
Cons:
Nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of product. You'll want to make sure to wash your hands after you use it so you don't inadvertently get it on your mucous membranes or in your eyes.
If you're a performance-oriented athlete and inclined to push your body hard, it's definitely worth keeping a tube of Biofreeze in your gym bag or medicine cabinet. If you're a performance-oriented cyclist with a tendency to crash into cast-iron lamp posts, take my advice: Biofreeze is your new best friend. Just buy it.

This product is great! My mother-in-law was buying it from her chiropractor for twice as much so I went online and found a much better price for her. She uses it for her back, I tried it on my leg and my sister loves it for her bum knee. If you want relief from muscle or joint pain, you'll love this stuff!

I bought it for my mother,she has severe nueropathy in her hands and it seems biofreeze is the only thing she gets relief from.I use it on my back and other joints that hurt, it's great .I also gave some to my sister and her husband,She's an excerize fanatic and he's a golfer.They both love it!!!
