Effective exercise Jul 21, 2006
By An Amazon Customer But watch it if you have arthritis in hips/knees. I have hip & knee arthritis in the same leg. Put these on, then I walked 20x around a above ground pool (about a 28' length pool, 4.5' deep).
For comparison, I am not an Ironman triathlete, but could ride a mtn bike 3 miles on flat ground in 23 minutes.
However, I was very sore from arthritis after using these fins in the pool, so much so, I needed a walking stick to walk, until the pain subsided in 1/2 hr.
Be careful! I think I am going to cut these fins down to a smaller length, my arthritis could not take it.
Disappointed with durability Apr 23, 2011
By Lair Hill PDX I bought these in March and liked them a lot- thought they provided a good level of resistance. But after less than a dozen uses, the rivets on one fin just pulled out of the plastic rendering them useless.
Great for Physical Therapy Exercises Mar 15, 2010

My physical therapist recommended I purchase these. Unfortunately they cost about $10 more than what she said they would. Luckily Amazon didn't charge for shipping which kept the cost a bit more in line with what she said they would cost. She claims they will last forever. The straps and velcro do seem very strong. So far they have enabled me to do my PT exercises in the water with more resistance. No compliants except for the cost.
Aquafins Feb 18, 2010
By Barbara S. Bell Aquafins were recommended by my physical therapist following a hip replacement because I was already doing pool therapy and needed help with balance and building muscle strength. The added resistance is making me stronger. As for purchasing, I tried to buy them directly from Theraband and they quoted a $60.00 cost. I ordered them from Amazon for around $40.00. They arrived quickly.
