5Works very well, especially on achilles tendons.  Aug 02, 2010
By Allan S. Reid
Bought this primarily after viewing Graston Technique videos on You Tube and researching achilles tendon treatments, especially for runners. Took a few sessions to really get the best possible grip, tool edge and technique down but I have successfully broken up several tiny knots/adhesions/scarring from over 40 years of running with this nifty little product. Also worked very well in the soleus (lower calf). Used it on my wife to break up knots in her upper back and neck. Make sure you use some kind of lubricant on the treated area and you must use considerable pressure to break up trouble spots. If it doesn't hurt some to use it, you're not doing it right! Try a different edge and/or use more force. Compared to the outrageous price of the Graston instruments, this handy little gizmo is a godsend. As both an RN and a 40 year runner who has tried EVERYTHING to treat leg injuries and upper back neck knots, I can heartily endorse this product.

This is a wonderful tool for ART AND Myofacial work. This has saved my hands and fingers tremendously! I highly recommend this tool to anyone doing trigger point or deep work.

5My go-to product for pain relief  Nov 07, 2011
By S. Shuler
I have probably bought five or six of these in the last few years. I lose them from time to time and get more. I have had knots in my neck for years, and have been slowly breaking them down. I even brought a star to my physical therapist and left it in her office, and she uses it every time I visit. Can't go wrong. Yes, it hurts when you apply pressure, but it's the kind of pain that means you're burning through the spasms. I highly recommend it. I prefer it over the wooden "knobble."

4A great thumb saver  Nov 03, 2011
By ninja4her
I bough this to use in massage class to save my right thumb from bothering me. It is a great tool to use. Especially for forearms, trigger points, stripping out the Achilles tendon and many other techniques. I like the pistol grip method they show you with the instructions. My husband loves getting back rubs now that i can actually dig in hard enough. It works great for accessing the medial border of the scapula. This is a must buy.
